Tour dates: open to your time frame.
Day 1 – Early departure to Eastern Panamá (5 :00 am) Province marking few stops ( at Least 2) in hot spots areas. Our final destination will be the Torti town.
B,L,D overnight Hotel Avicar in Torti
Day 2
–
After
early breakfast we will visit the San Francisco Reserve ( 10 minutes
away from Torti). Lunch at the Avicar Hotel and we will start driving
towards Darién. Lunch on the road at
Meteti Town). After lunch, on the way to Yaviza we'll visit El Salto
Road.
Dinner at Yaviza and overnight as well.
Day 3
–
Harpy
Eagle Day
Overnight at Yaviza.
Day 4
–
Last
day in Darién and a good chance to visit again a Harpy Eagle nest in
case we failed to see the Harpy Eagle on Day 3. Otherwise, we 'll start
driving back to Panamá stopping on several spots on the road. Arrival to
Panamá City approximately at 7 pm.

ABOUT DARIEN
You will visit the eastern-most unexplored less frequent birding hotspots of
Panama! During the bird watching tour you will visit
swampy meadows along the Pan-American Highway, great water reservoir, mature
secondary forests, lagoons, scrubby and open fields, roadsides, riversides and
others. Private Foundations and Indian Village Reserves. Accompany
by professional local bird guides. At the end of each day the guide will
go over the day-bird list with participants and explain next day

AREA DESCRIPTION
Birding is done primarily on trails and open and covered canopy areas. Cover of
dry and second growth forest as well as the more widespread forest species.
WEATHER
The climate in Central Panama /Canal Zone is usually warm, with mornings in the
70s and afternoons in the 80s. Conditions at midday can be humid and very warm,
with temperatures reaching into the lower 90s. Rainstorms may occur at any time
of year, but are more likely during the rainy season, which runs from the summer
months into early December. Generally, the weather in Darien is humid mild and
pleasant, with our activities corresponding to the cooler parts of the day and
heightened bird activity.
CLOTHING
Dress for tropical hot humid weather and be ready for rain. Light clothing is
recommended: cotton shirts or t-shirts - earth colors preferable � long
(preferable) and short pants, poncho, hiking shoes, hat, insect repellent and
sun block.
GEAR
Binoculars, scope (optional), field guide, notebook and camera (optional ).
GUIDE BOOK RECOMMENDED
The Birds of Panama, a field guide by George R Angehr and Robert Dean described
as the "bible" for Panama and some Costa Rica birds.
